AC Shadows Introduces Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual expectations, the game developer has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the formal statement, "A mysterious encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of banned ceremonies and terrifying transformations echo through the obscurity." The narrative features a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine sect.
The adventure centers on "strange experiments and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses
The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Additional Material
Players who finish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana in addition to multiple items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
